Quality First: The Renewal by Andersen® Installation Process

Renewal by Andersen® understands how important quality installation is to the overall performance of replacement windows. After all, no matter how well-built our products may be, they won’t perform as promised if they’re not installed properly.

Here is an overview of our installation process and how we consistently maintain our uncompromising standards.

Built to Size

Renewal by Andersen replacement windows are custom built to match the existing window opening in your home, so when the old windows are removed, absolutely no modifications will me made save for necessary repairs. Before a single screw is put into place, the replacement windows are carefully positioned onto the window opening, then precisely plumbed, squared and shimmed to ensure perfectly level windows. In almost every case, there will be a slight gap between the frame and wall opening. To ensure an airtight seal, this gap must be filled in properly before the trim goes on.

An Airtight Seal

Window contractors should fill the gap with expanding foam insulation. Old installation techniques required pushing pieces of sheet or batt insulation into the gaps. This technique doesn’t fill all spaces, so making an airtight seal is impossible. Without a proper seal, heat can easily transfer between one side to the other, which drags down your home’s energy efficiency.

This is why our installers use a special expanding insulating foam to fill these gaps. The foam is applied as a semi-liquid substance that expands upon contact with air. It fills every crevice in this gap so that by the time it cures, you have an airtight seal that allows no chances of heat leaks.

Completing the Installation

Next, we install the trim and caps. Once the installation is completed, every window undergoes a strict quality check, after which the windows undergo the most important quality check off all – yours. We will not leave until you are 100% satisfied with our work. We want our clients to enjoy their windows for many years, which is why our Transferable Limited Warranty includes a lifetime installation warranty.
